JotSpan for ADHD

A to-do list for when your focus jumps around.

Switch when you need to. JotSpan pauses the last task on its own and keeps your reflection on where you stopped, so coming back takes seconds instead of starting over.

  • Finish the slides
  • Got pulled into email. Back to the slides: finish slide 4 first.
  • Answer the landlord
  • Finish the slides
Example day in the Journal

One thing at a time, without the guilt of switching

JotSpan has one active task. When something else takes over, start it and the first task pauses by itself. There’s no timer to stop and no status to update.

Paused work waits in Tasks with a Continue button, and your Journal lists what you left unfinished the next morning, so nothing quietly disappears.

A reflection for your future self

Before you switch, write one line: what you just figured out, or the very next step. When you come back, it’s right there on the same timeline as the task.

Those lines add up to a record of your day in the order it happened, which is easier to trust than memory at 5 p.m.

Nothing to set up or keep tidy

No projects, labels, priorities, streaks or notifications. Open it, type what you’re doing, press Enter. If a system needs maintenance, it eventually gets abandoned; JotSpan tries not to be that system.

Questions.

Is JotSpan made for ADHD?

JotSpan is a to-do list and work journal for anyone who switches tasks a lot. Many of its choices, like one active task, automatic pauses and reflections on the same timeline, help when focus jumps around. It isn’t a medical tool or a treatment.

Will it nag me with reminders?

No. JotSpan sends no notifications and keeps no streaks. It’s there when you open it.

What if I forget to pause a task?

You don’t need to. Starting or continuing another task pauses the current one automatically.

Is it free?

Yes. Tasks, reflections, search and export are all free with an account.

Start with the task on your mind.

Type it, press Enter, and you’re working. Write a reflection before you switch.
